Flipkart Revenue Rises 18% In FY26, Net Loss At Rs 8,468 Cr

Total income increased to Rs 1.47 lakh crore as expenses rose 16 per cent to Rs 1.55 lakh crore, while Walmart continues to prioritise profitability ahead of a proposed IPO

Flipkart Group’s revenue from operations climbed 18 per cent to Rs 1.46 lakh crore in FY26, but the growth has yet to translate into profitability, with the group reporting a consolidated net loss of Rs 8,468 crore for the year ended March 2026, against Rs 8,646 crore a year earlier, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

Following its redomiciliation to India, Flipkart Group is reporting consolidated financial results through Flipkart Internet. The company said the FY26 results cover the year ended March 2026 and reflect the group’s historical financial performance rather than its current trading position, as per a media report.

The group’s total expenses reached Rs 1,54,781 crore during FY26, an increase of 16 per cent from Rs 1,33,400 crore in FY25. Total income, meanwhile, increased to Rs 1,46,700 crore from Rs 1,24,317 crore over the same period. Purchases of stock-in-trade remained the biggest expense, rising 17 per cent to Rs 1,17,617 crore from Rs 1,00,165 crore. Other expenses reached Rs 28,277 crore, compared with Rs 24,325 crore a year earlier, marking an increase of 16 per cent.

Employee benefit expenses recorded a comparatively modest rise to Rs 8,376 crore from Rs 8,268 crore. Finance costs, however, climbed to Rs 1,209 crore from Rs 649 crore, while depreciation and amortisation expenses remained largely unchanged at Rs 1,801 crore.

Quick Commerce Remains A Growth Focus
Flipkart continues to expand its presence in quick commerce through Flipkart Minutes, a business that competes with Amazon Now, Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart. The segment requires investment in fulfilment infrastructure and day-to-day operations as companies seek to improve delivery capabilities and extend their reach.

The group’s investments in newer businesses come at a time when its financial results continue to reflect a substantial consolidated loss. The challenge is to support expansion in competitive segments while improving the economics of its overall operations.

Walmart Prioritises Profitability Before IPO
Flipkart’s proposed stock market debut remains deferred as Walmart focuses on the group’s path to profitability. As per a media report published by Moneycontrol in May, Walmart had asked Flipkart to postpone its initial public offering (IPO) plans and target earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) breakeven before the end of FY27. The target places profitability at the centre of the group’s near-term financial priorities. Although the consolidated net loss declined from the previous year, the group continues to report losses despite its large revenue base.

The FY26 results highlight the scale of Flipkart’s operations and the financial demands associated with its business expansion. The group’s ability to improve profitability while sustaining growth will remain a key consideration before it moves ahead with its listing plans.
