Zepto Lets Go Of Delivery & Handling Fees

Simpl Integrates With Zepto Pass, Offering Seamless Payments

Zepto waives all handling and surge charges, offering free delivery on orders above Rs 99 under its new fee structure

Quick commerce platform Zepto has removed handling and surge fees across all orders and waived delivery charges for purchases above Rs 99. The company said the changes are part of its new “All New Zepto Experience” initiative.

Under the revised structure, customers will not be charged handling, rain, or surge fees on any order. Delivery remains free once the cart value exceeds Rs 99, while orders below that amount will attract a Rs 30 delivery fee. No additional small cart fee will apply. Zepto has also discontinued the convenience fee earlier levied on cigarette and tobacco orders.

According to a comparison of fee structures among major quick commerce platforms, Zepto’s threshold for free delivery is lower than that of its competitors. For orders under Rs 99, Zepto charges only a Rs 30 delivery fee. In comparison, Blinkit applies total fees of Rs 54 (Rs 30 delivery, Rs 4 handling, and Rs 20 small cart charge), while Swiggy Instamart charges about Rs 65 (Rs 30 delivery, Rs 9.80 handling, Rs 15 small cart fee, plus 18 per cent GST on charges).

In one example, an Rs 84 item on Zepto costs Rs 115.50 after including Rs 30 delivery and Rs 1.5 GST, with no handling fee. The same purchase costs Rs 143 on Blinkit and Rs 154 on Instamart. For orders above Rs 99, Zepto waives all fees, while Blinkit continues charging Rs 34 until the order value exceeds Rs 199. Instamart levies Rs 30 on orders below Rs 199 and Rs 16 thereafter, which is waived for Swiggy One members.
