Avenue Supermart’s Raises Rs 100 Cr Via CP

Retailer expands presence in NCR with Moti Nagar store; raises short-term funds through commercial paper issuance

 

Avenue Supermarts, operator of the D-Mart retail chain, has raised Rs 100 crore through a commercial paper issuance and opened a new outlet in New Delhi. The instrument carries a 6 per cent coupon with 91-day maturity, redeemable on December 29, 2025, and is rated ‘ICRA A1+’. , as per the regulatory filing.
“The Company has opened a new store at Epicah Mall & Business Centre, Moti Nagar (New Delhi) today. The total number of stores as of date stands at 431”, the company added further in different regulatory filing.
The expansion adds to its presence in the National Capital Region, where it has been building scale. Earlier this year, Avenue Supermarts launched stores in Anantapur, Bikaner, Chhindwara, and Vadodara.
The retailer plans to add 50 new stores in FY26, with a medium-term target of 600–650 outlets. In Q1 FY26, it reported revenue of Rs 16,360 crore, up 16.28 per cent year-on-year. Net profit was Rs 773 crore, nearly flat compared with the previous year, while Ebitda margins fell to 7.9 per cent from 8.7 per cent in Q1 FY25.
Promoted by Radhakishan Damani and family, Avenue Supermarts operates across 11 states and the NCR under its EDLC–EDLP (Everyday Low Cost–Everyday Low Price) model. Its online platform, DMart Ready, recorded 21 per cent growth in the recent period. The commercial paper proceeds will be used for working capital linked to expansion projects.
