Spanning 7,874 square feet, the store features an extensive collection of men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, along with a premium range of footwear and fashion accessories
Cantabil Retail India has expanded its presence in Delhi with the opening of its largest store in the shopping hub in Karol Bagh. Spanning 7,874 square feet, the store features an extensive collection of men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, along with a premium range of footwear and fashion accessories.
From everyday casual wear and sharp formal ensembles to celebration-ready ceremonial styles, the store seeks to offer curated collections for every age group, occasion and lifestyle, the company said. The company has around 90 stores in the Delhi NCR region.
With a network of over 650 stores across India, the company is also looking at a bigger play in the Southern markets, beginning next financial year. While it is currently expanding its presence in the northern and western parts, which contribute significantly to the company’s sales, it is eyeing to up its network in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
“We will start with Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana, we have four stores right now in Hyderabad,” Deepak Bansal, Whole-time Director, Cantabil Retail India, told BW Retail World.
Vijay Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director, Cantabil Retail India, said, “Opening our biggest store in Karol Bagh is a special milestone for us. Delhi has always been an important market for Cantabil and Karol Bagh is one of the country’s most established shopping destinations. This store reflects how far we’ve come over the last 25 years and our confidence in the growing demand for quality fashion at accessible prices.”
Festive Season Outlook And Sub-categories
Deepak Bansal said that the company is expecting to perform better during the coming festive season as compared to last year, with the late arrival of festivals giving it a longer window to increase sales.
“We are very positive about the festive season, because this time the Raksha Bandhan is at the end of August, so we will get the full one month for the sales. Last year Raksha Bandhan was on 9 August, so we hardly got 10 to 15 days. Similarly, Diwali is late and many other festivals connected with Diwali are late, so we are expecting a good season, better than last year,” he added.
The Whole-time Director noted that the company is also looking to increase its focus on the other categories such as shoes, innerwear and fragrances. “The contribution of accessories is around 5 per cent in the total sales currently. We expect it to rise further to around 6 to 7 per cent,” he added.
