Venture Catalysts and Mysore Saree Udyog founders back lab-grown jewellery start-up for retail expansion
Reia Diamonds, a Bengaluru-based lab-grown jewellery start-up, have raised Rs 2 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by the founders of Mysore Saree Udyog and early-stage investment firm Venture Catalysts.
The company said it will use the funds to expand its retail network, enhance its omnichannel presence, and develop new designs in the engagement ring and everyday jewellery segments.
Founded in 2023 by Prapanjj S K Kota, Reia Diamonds focuses on creating sustainable, lab-grown diamond jewellery that combines ethical sourcing with modern design. The brand currently operates three stores in Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Coimbatore.
Reia’s franchise-led model has helped it scale quickly while maintaining profitability. Its offerings include IGI or SDI-certified lab-grown diamonds, BIS hallmarked gold jewellery, and lifetime exchange and buyback policies. The brand also provides personalised consultations both in-store and at home.
The funding comes amid strong growth in India’s lab-grown diamond market, which was valued at about USD 395 million in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 1.57 billion by 2035, growing at a CAGR of nearly 15 per cent. Rising consumer preference for sustainable and affordable alternatives, particularly among younger buyers, is driving demand for lab-grown diamonds.
