The launch includes fragrances with makeup to follow; new boutiques in Delhi and Mumbai are slated for opening
SS Beauty, a division of Shoppers Stop, has introduced Giorgio Armani products in India through a distribution partnership with Global SS Beauty Brands. Initially focusing on fragrances, the launch will expand to include Armani’s makeup line within two months.
Over the next four months, Global SS Beauty plans to open two Giorgio Armani boutiques in Delhi and Mumbai, with further shop-in-shops in various beauty retailers across the country.
Biju Kassim, CEO of Beauty at Shoppers Stop, highlighted strong demand for luxury brands like Giorgio Armani among Indian youth, expressing confidence in its success in the local market. The introduction of Armani follows the recent debut of NARS in India. Shoppers Stop’s beauty segment, which includes brands such as Prada, Valentino, MAC and Tom Ford, has been a significant growth driver, contributing 18 per cent to overall sales with Rs 218 crore in Q4 FY24.
Despite temporary challenges like a heatwave and elections impacting sales, Kassim remains optimistic about continued robust growth in the beauty segment, especially with expansion plans into tier two and three cities.
