ASUS Eyes 30% Market Share In India With Aggressive Retail Expansion

With a goal to dominate India’s PC market, ASUS plans a rapid expansion into 600 districts within two years

ASUS is setting its sights on becoming the top personal computer brand in India, targeting a market share of 25-30 per cent over the next two years. Arnold Su, Vice President of Consumer & Gaming PC, System Business Group, ASUS India, revealed the company’s ambitious plan during an interview with PTI. ASUS has already seen substantial growth, tripling its market share from 6.3 per cent in 2017 to 17.8 per cent in 2023, making it the second-largest consumer notebook brand in India.

“It took us six years to triple the market share. Our target is to become the number one brand in the coming two years. And to reach number one, our market share should reach between 25-30 per cent,” Su said.

“We will continue to aggressively expand our retail touch points to ensure that consumers from tier-3 and tier-4 cities can experience ASUS technology without having to travel to metro cities,” he said in an interview to PTI.

ASUS plans to significantly increase its presence in tier-3 and tier-4 cities, ensuring consumers in smaller towns can access ASUS products without needing to travel to metropolitan areas. The company currently has a presence in over 400 districts and aims to expand to 600 out of India’s 750 districts within the next two years. This will be achieved through a combination of ASUS-exclusive stores and channel partner outlets.

“Our aspiration is to have at least one exclusive ASUS store in each of the 600 districts within the next four years,” Su added. Following this, ASUS will extend its reach to talukas, ensuring even broader access to its products.

Additionally, ASUS has introduced six select stores dedicated to refurbished PCs, further strengthening its market presence.

Su emphasised the company’s commitment to reducing the time gap between product launches in India and global markets, highlighting India’s importance as a priority market. With these strategies, ASUS aims to secure a leading position in both the consumer and gaming PC sectors.
