Logistics firm expands services to boost turnover and market presence
Logistics company BookMyCargo (BMC) has made a strategic entry into the domestic business-to-consumer (B2C) segment, aiming to enhance its market presence and achieve a Rs 100 crore topline by FY30, according to a company official quoted by PTI. Established in 2016 and based in Gurugram, BMC has primarily operated in the business-to-business (B2B) space, catering to clients in sectors such as FMCG, consumer goods, and pharmaceuticals.
“As of 2016, the demand for same-day deliveries was less than 1 per cent. It is anticipated to increase to 22 per cent by 2025. We have entered into the B2C segment to tap this growth and increase our presence,” said JD Yadav, Founder of BookMyCargo, as quoted by PTI. The company has also expanded its B2C services to Thailand, covering 75 provinces in the Southeast Asian country.
As of March 2024, BMC’s turnover was Rs 12.3 crore. Yadav expressed optimism about the new segment’s potential, stating, “With the new segment, we aim to almost double it (turnover) this fiscal year, and look for Rs 100 crore (turnover) over the next five years.”
Commenting on the Union Budget, Yadav highlighted the positive impact of the Rs 11.11 lakh crore capital expenditure announced by the Finance Minister for infrastructure. He emphasised that this investment would spur development projects, creating numerous employment opportunities. Additionally, the government’s decision to establish more ecommerce export hubs and integrated industrial parks is expected to boost manufacturing output, enhance domestic consumption and stimulate trade and logistics activities across the country.
