Witnessing an increase in demand this year, Meesho, an ecommerce marketplace, saw its total orders rise over 40 per cent compared to the last year during the ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale 2024’ held from 27 September to 06 October 2024. The platform achieved over 3 crore app downloads during the same period.
As per Meesho, the platform achieved 145 crore customer visits, with around 45 per cent of shoppers hailing from tier-4 cities. The company reached customers in remote locations such as Ranaghat, West Bengal and Sivasagar, Assam.
As consumers increasingly embrace digital shopping, prepaid orders surged by an impressive 117 per cent, reflecting a significant shift in customer preferences toward digital payment options in tier 2 and beyond.
“Meesho’s remarkable growth is built on two core principles: serving underserved users and offering the widest selection at the lowest prices. During our Mega Blockbuster Sale this year, we achieved over 40 per cent growth in orders, surpassing industry expectations. With around 3 crore app downloads and a 45 per cent increase in new-to-ecommerce users, we are reinforcing our commitment to making ecommerce accessible and affordable for millions across the country,” stated Milan Partani, General Manager, User Growth at Meesho.
Catering to the growing demand for branded products, Meesho Mall witnessed two times (2X) growth in orders, highlighting its growing popularity among users in tier 2 plus regions. Brands like Mars have achieved growth of over 4X, while Denver saw growth exceeding 2X. Mamaearth also grew by more than 2X, Bella Vita doubled its orders, and Swiss Beauty experienced a growth of 1.8X, as per the statement of the company.
As per the company, During the Sale, more than 25,000 sellers achieved success by doubling their revenue compared to their usual business performance.
