Nasher Miles Plans To Reach 1,000 Stores By Year-end

The company’s offline footprint now spans 200 cities across 24 states, with plans to reach 500 stores by Diwali and 1,000 stores by the end of the year

Showcasing its transition from a predominantly online brand to a true omnichannel player in the Indian luggage market, Nasher Miles, the country’s premium luggage brand has established a presence in over 400 stores across India in just two months after introducing its offline retail operations. The brand plans to reach 500 stores by Diwali and 1,000 stores by the end of the year.

As the all-shark deal on season 3 of Shark Tank India boosted the brand’s popularity, the hiring of Anil Verma, a luggage industry veteran with experience in setting up Samsonite and Delsey in India, spearheaded their offline expansion.

“Our aspiration was always to be an omnichannel brand. After establishing a strong online presence and reaching a scale of over Rs 100 crore, we felt the time was right to expand into offline channels, which still represent the largest segment in our category,” stated Lokesh Daga, Co-founder and Director of Nasher Miles.

The brand has been receiving positive responses on the quick commerce platforms as well. Despite the challenges of accommodating bulky products in dark stores, the initial response has indicated a strong demand for immediate delivery of travel gear and accessories.

Nasher Miles is set to accelerate its Make in India campaign. The company notified about the establishment of a dedicated manufacturing and warehousing facility in Gujarat, with a monthly capacity of over 50,000 units. This move is expected to optimise manufacturing costs, reduce time to market for both business-to-business (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (D2C) customers and increase production to cater to growing demand via different channels.

“This is our first step in a series of many as we look to consolidate our Make in India initiative. We are on track to move over 75 per cent of our production to domestic facilities by the end of the financial year,” mentioned Abhishek Daga, Chairman of Nasher Miles.
