Starbucks Expands Footprints In Tier II Cities, Opens First Outlets In Prayagraj, Bilaspur

These new stores introduce Starbucks’ globally renowned coffee experience to local customers, blending modern design with cultural and historical nuances

Tata Starbucks continues its expansion across India by opening its first outlets in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, marking a significant step in its plan to reach Tier II cities. These new stores introduce Starbucks’ globally renowned coffee experience to local customers, blending modern design with cultural and historical nuances.

According to an official statement, located in the newly opened WP Arena Mall, Starbucks’ Prayagraj store effortlessly combines contemporary design with the city’s deep historical roots. The store’s architecture features Corinthian columns and a classical façade, paying homage to the city’s rich history, which spans multiple dynasties and empires. Inside, unique artwork, such as the Chiapas Coffee Creature and Kenya Landscape, enriches the ambiance, while master coffee blenders offer an exceptional range of coffees sourced from different farms and regions.

Adrit Mishra, COO, Tata Starbucks, said, “We’re excited to bring our first Starbucks store to Prayagraj, a city with a deep-seated historical legacy. This store exemplifies our commitment to coffee excellence and creating a distinctive Third Place experience for our customers.”

The Bilaspur store, Starbucks’ first in Chhattisgarh, draws inspiration from the region’s rich natural resources. With a striking curved wooden canopy and a vibrant mural reflecting the biodiversity of coffee-growing regions, the store’s design pays homage to Bilaspur’s renowned wildlife sanctuary. The space is further enhanced by a curated selection of artworks, including Flower Buds by 17215 and Kona Coffee Farm 5 by Megumi Kean.

“The first Starbucks store in Bilaspur demonstrates the Signature Starbucks Experience through our master blenders, who craft distinctive coffee blends from diverse farms and regions, creating a welcoming and unique Third Place,” said Adrit Mishra.

The Starbucks stores in Prayagraj and Bilaspur will be open from 8 AM to 11 PM daily.

Since its entry into India in 2012 through a joint venture with Tata Consumer Products (TCPL), Starbucks has rapidly expanded to over 446 stores across 66 cities. With plans to open 1,000 stores by 2028, Starbucks remains committed to providing a world-class coffee experience while integrating local culture into its stores
