DMart’s Net Profit Rises To Rs 724 Cr In Q3FY25

The company’s net profit margin stood at 4.5 per cent in the third quarter of current fiscal (Q3FY25) as compared to 5.1 per cent in Q3FY24

Avenue Supermarts, the parent company of DMart, has registered a healthy improvement in its performance as it witnessed a five per cent year-on-year (YoY) uptick in its consolidated net profit during the third quarter of the current financial year (Q3FY25). The company posted a net profit of Rs 724 crore during the quarter ending 31 December 2024.

As per the unaudited consolidated financial results of the company for the recently concluded quarter, the net profit in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal stood at Rs 690 crore. The profit after tax (Pat) or net profit margin stood at 4.5 per cent in Q3FY25 as compared to 5.1 per cent in Q3FY24.

The company added that total Revenue for the quarter ended 31 December 2024 stood at Rs 15,973 crore, as compared to Rs 13,572 crore in the same period last year. Earnings before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) in Q3FY25 stood at Rs 1,217 crore, as compared to Rs 1,120 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.

The EBITDA margin for the company stood at 7.6 per cent in the recently concluded quarter as compared to 8.3 per cent in Q3FY24. Basic Earnings per share (EPS) for Q3FY25 stood at Rs 11.12, as compared to Rs 10.62 for Q3FY24.

“We continue to see increased intensity in discounting in the FMCG category and the consequent impact to high turnover per square feet stores in metro towns. However, this quarter the impact has relatively reduced versus the previous quarter (Q2FY25). We stay committed to being the most preferred value retailer to customers in the vicinity of a DMart store or a Fulfilment centre of DMart Ready,” stated Neville Noronha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, Avenue Supermarts.

As far as the performance in the first nine months of the current fiscal (9MFY25) is concerned, total Revenue for 9MFY25 stood at Rs 44,486 crore, as compared to Rs 38,062 crore in the same period last year. Net Profit stood at Rs 2,157 crore for 9MFY25, as compared to Rs 1,972 crore in 9MFY24. The company added that Pat margin stood at 4.8 per cent in 9MFY25 as compared to 5.2 per cent in 9MFY24.
