Handcrafted typeface immortalises Shri Satyapal Sugandhi’s original handwriting on the Group’s 96th Founder’s Day
Marking its 96th Founder’s Day, the Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), one of India’s leading FMCG conglomerates and multi-business corporations, has unveiled DS Creates, a custom-designed handwritten-style font inspired by the original handwriting of its founder, Shri Satyapal ‘Sugandhi’.
Developed as a creative and cultural tribute, the font has been meticulously crafted to preserve the visual nuances and personality of the founder’s script. Every letterform has been recreated to mirror his distinctive style, reflecting the clarity, conviction, and attention to detail for which he was known.
The idea for DS Creates was conceived by Thrive agency and brought to life by type designer Deepak Dogra of Graphite Studio. Speaking on the launch, Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman of DS Group, said, “On the 96th Founder’s Day of DS Group, transforming the unique, tangible handwriting of Satyapalji and eternalising it into a digital legacy by way of a font, DS Creates, is a proud moment for us. It’s more than just a font; it’s a deeply personal tribute. Preserving his handwriting allows every generation at DS Group to carry a part of his legacy into the future.”
