The development comes at a time when the sector is heating up due to intense competition
Eternal, the parent company of food delivery platform Zomato and quick commerce arm Blinkit, has incorporated its wholly-owned subsidiary Blinkit Foods, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
This debut enhances Blinkit’s previous business, Bistro, which was introduced earlier and is owned by Zomato. Initially running as a pilot in a few areas of Gurugram, Bistro is a quick-commerce food delivery app that promises to deliver snacks, meals and drinks in roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
“Further to our intimation dated 21 July 2025, we wish to inform that Blinkit Foods, wholly owned subsidiary of Eternal (the company) has been incorporated,” the exchange filing highlighted.
Earlier, in a letter to shareholders, Eternal Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Deepinder Goyal noted that through Bistro, the company is tapping into two demand pockets so far unaddressed by Zomato: customers looking for high-quality but low-cost meals and customers looking for snacky food in 10 minutes.
Sharing the update around the ten-minute food delivery service Bistro, where the kitchen infrastructure is owned and operated by Blinkit, Goyal said that they have 38 such kitchens live in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore currently.
The earlier reports noted that the development comes at a time when the sector is heating up due to intense competition from Blinkit’s Bistro and Swiggy’s Snacc. Zepto is putting efforts to control the cash burn, the reports highlighted, while adding that the company has slowed the introductions of its dark stores or mini warehouses as well.
