Flipkart Names Gunjan Bhartia As SVP, Business Finance

Ecommerce marketplace Flipkart has appointed Gunjan Bhartia as Senior Vice President (SVP), Business Finance. In this role, he will lead eKart Business Finance across all verticals, strengthening financial planning and strategic transformation as the company continues to build a future-ready supply chain for India.

Bhartia brings over 28 years of global finance experience across Asia and the Middle East, with deep expertise in working with high-growth technology organisations. He has previously held senior leadership positions at companies such as GE and Coupang, where he played a central role in scaling businesses, driving large transformations, managing multi-billion-dollar programmes, the company said in a statement.

Recently, Flipkart notified the acquisition of a majority stake in Minivet AI, an AI and machine learning solutions provider founded in 2024, as part of its strategy to deepen core Generative AI (Gen AI) capabilities across its ecommerce ecosystem.

The move comes at a time when digital commerce is rapidly evolving towards visual-first, video-led and conversational discovery. By integrating Minivet AI’s proprietary technology, Flipkart aims to accelerate the creation of more intuitive, interactive and immersive shopping journeys for its customers.
