Flipkart’s SVP Ankit Jain May Switch To Swiggy Instamart As COO: Reports

The reports state that Ankit Jain is likely to replace the current Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Swiggy Instamart, Sairam Krishnamurthy

In line with multiple top-level exits from the company, Ankit Jain, the Senior Vice President (SVP) at Flipkart, is expected to part ways with the company and take charge as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Swiggy Instamart, a quick commerce platform, as per the media reports.

Jain is likely to replace the current COO of Swiggy Instamart, Sairam Krishnamurthy. The reports added that Jain served as SVP and the head of grocery and large supply chain at Flipkart, the company where he worked for over five years. Post exit, he is expected to work closely with Amitesh Jha, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Swiggy Instamart.

Before joining Flipkart, Jain worked with Hindustan Unilever (HUL) for over 14 years. At HUL, he served at various roles ranging from manufacturing manager to general manager demand planning and planning excellence, as per his LinkedIn profile, which also reflected that his stint at Flipkart ended in May 2025.

On the other hand, Krishnamurthy had joined Swiggy Instamart in August 2024 as the SVP and COO. In his role, he currently oversees Swiggy Instamart’s operating units, including dark store operations, infrastructure operations, city and growth expansion.

Prior to Swiggy, he served as the COO at More Retail for nearly four years. He was also the head of sales and supply marketing at Ola. Having spent around seven years with Hindustan Unilever, Krishnamurthy served in roles ranging from senior brand manager to customer marketing director.

Flipkart is eyeing to adopt a cautious approach to its quick commerce business as it may restrict the expansion of its rapid commerce unit, Flipkart Minutes, to the top six to eight cities to reduce burn, as per the media reports.

Currently in direct competition with Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, BigBasket’s BB Now and Blinkit, the company has presence in around 14 cities and operates through a network of over 300 so-called dark stores or mini warehouses, the reports added.
