Radiowalla Tunes Into Africa With Botswana Retail Media Deal

Partnership with Electro-Metic and Shine Bright marks Radiowalla’s entry into Southern Africa’s retail audio and digital signage market

Radiowalla Network, India’s leading provider of custom audio content and corporate radio services, has announced its foray into the African continent through an exclusive five-year agreement with Botswana-based Electro-Metic Enterprises and Shine Bright Proprietary.

The tripartite deal grants Shine Bright exclusive rights to market and distribute Radiowalla’s in-store radio, digital signage, corporate audio, and point-of-purchase advertising solutions across Botswana, beginning with approximately 300 retail outlets operated by Electro-Metic, including popular brands Choppies and Liquorama.

The strategic collaboration signifies Radiowalla’s formal entry into the African retail media market, offering Botswana’s retail sector access to curated music, promotional messaging, and third-party advertising opportunities through Radiowalla’s proprietary audio platform.

“This collaboration with Shine marks a critical step in our global roadmap. We’re proud to bring Radiowalla’s immersive audio engagement services to Botswana’s vibrant retail sector, starting with ~300 retail locations of Electro-Metic,” said Harvinderjit Singh Bhatia, CEO & Co-Founder, Radiowalla Network.

Sagar Joshi, Director of Shine Bright, added, “Our alliance with Radiowalla reflects a shared vision to deliver high-impact, localised customer experiences that drive both brand recall and footfalls.”

Karthik Rajendran, Senior Representative at Electro-Metic Enterprises, noted, “Partnering with Radiowalla and Shine enables us to bring world-class in-store audio and engagement solutions to retail environments in Botswana. This collaboration reflects our commitment to integrating smart, customer-focused innovations that enhance the shopping experience and drive value for our clients.”

The partnership marks Radiowalla’s first formal entry into the African market, with Botswana serving as the strategic launchpad. As part of the retail rollout, the company will initially deploy its in-store radio and digital signage solutions across over 300 Electro-Metic retail outlets, including Choppies and Liquorama.

A robust monetisation model has been established, enabling third-party advertising within Botswana’s retail ecosystem, creating new revenue streams for all stakeholders. Shine Bright will play a pivotal role in driving local engagement by curating region-specific audio content and promotional campaigns tailored to the preferences of the Southern African audience.

This collaboration lays a strong foundation for Radiowalla’s broader expansion across the region, reinforcing its position as a scalable and innovative player in international retail media.

The agreement was disclosed to the National Stock Exchange of India under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements), 2015.

Founded in 2010 by Harvinderjit Singh Bhatia and Anil Srivatsa, Radiowalla operates on a B2B model, delivering custom audio and digital signage services to nearly 30,000 retail outlets across 10 countries. The company has earned international recognition, including being named a TiECon50 winner in 2013 and a finalist at TechSparks 2012.

With this Botswana partnership, Radiowalla strengthens its position as a scalable and innovative retail media platform with global ambitions, poised to meet the growing demand for immersive customer engagement solutions.
