CMAI’s four-day event draws 39,000 buyers, showcases over 1,300 designers
The 79th National Garment Fair, held from 23 to 26 July 2024, saw remarkable success, attracting over 39,000 buyers from across India, primarily distributors, wholesalers and retailers. In just four days, the event reportedly generated nearly Rs 2,100 crore in business. Additionally, it is anticipated that commercial requests worth between Rs 800 crore and Rs 1,000 crore will materialise over the next four to eight weeks.
The event showcased the newest collections from more than 1,300 clothing designers across an expansive 1 million square feet of exhibition space. The Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon hosted men’s and women’s wear along with accessories, while the Jio Convention Centre in BKC featured kids’ wear.
Rajesh Masand, President of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), commented on the industry’s performance, stating, “The Fair has vividly illustrated the sector’s growth and transformative potential. This landmark edition has not only highlighted our industry’s resilience but also galvanised our collective ambition.”

Prominent retailers and distributors from across the country and overseas were seen at the fair, expressing interest in regional brands as well.”
