Centre says that several key segments recorded notable growth during November 2025, with readymade garments (RMG) growing 11.3 per cent
Marking a healthy improvement in performance, India’s exports of textiles and apparel, including handicrafts, stood at USD 2,855.8 million in November 2025, registering a growth of 9.4 per cent as compared to November 2024 (USD 2,601.5 million).
Ministry of Textiles said that several key segments recorded notable growth during November 2025, with readymade garments (RMG) growing 11.3 per cent. On the other hand, man-made yarn/fabrics/made-ups, grew 15.7 per cent. Data showed that handicrafts (excluding handmade carpets) saw a growth of 29.7 per cent.
For the year 2025, the cumulative exports from January to November 2025, of textiles and apparel exports (excluding handicrafts) amounted to USD 32,560.0 million, reflecting an increase of 0.26 per cent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year (USD 32,474.9 million).
It is noteworthy that exports of Readymade Garments (RMG) during the period (January to November 2025) witnessed a growth of 3.6 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous year. There was a growth of 6.1 per cent during the same period for Jute products, the official statement added.
In a move to make it mandatory for manufacturers to share details like fibre used, origin and care instructions, Centre is working on bringing new labelling rules for apparel and home textiles sold in India, as per media reports.
The reports noted that the move seeks to ensure shoppers are not misled about fibre compositions or origin claims. India is looking to match global practices, support better recycling. Reports added that in developed countries, disclosure and display of country of origin, fibre composition and many more details.
