Leadership transition comes as Pladis sharpens focus on scale, distribution expansion, and evolving consumer demand in India
Global snacking major Pladis, known for brands such as McVitie’s, has appointed Mohit Dutta as Country General Manager for India. The move comes as the company prepares for its next phase of growth in the country, with an increased emphasis on scaling operations, strengthening distribution networks, and adapting to shifting consumer preferences across both urban and emerging markets, according to a statement.
The maker of McVitie’s and GODIVA is continuing to expand its footprint in India, with efforts focused on driving category growth through improved market execution and a more focused channel expansion strategy.
Dutta brings over 18 years of experience across leading FMCG companies. He joined pladis in 2022 as Sales Director for India. Prior to that, he spent close to a decade at Mars in senior roles spanning trade marketing and sales, and earlier worked with Hindustan Unilever and Shell.
“The priority now is to accelerate growth through sharper execution, while continuing to expand our reach and build a business that stays closely aligned with evolving consumer demand,” said Dutta.
Suryakant Pandey, Managing Director for the Menai region at pladis, which includes India, added: “‘India remains a key market for us, and this transition ensures the leadership needed to scale the business with greater focus and execution.’”
