Clean-label FMCG brand Pluckk aims to scale to 100 stores in three months and expects international markets to contribute 25-30 per cent of revenue
India’s clean-label FMCG brand Pluckk has expanded into the UK, with the company targeting around 500 stores in the market within a year as it seeks to build an international growth engine.
Pluckk, which entered the UK market in September, is currently present in 17 stores and has already secured a 15 per cent share of the protein bar category within those stores. The company plans to expand to 100 stores across multiple retail chains within three months, followed by a target of around 500 stores within a year.
The brand also plans to significantly expand its UK portfolio from its current range to more than 50 stock-keeping units (SKUs) across clean-label categories, including cold-pressed fruit juices, functional drinks, healthy crisps, snacks, salads and tomato ketchup.
“Pluckk was built with a simple vision – to make clean, nutritious food accessible to everyone. We believe consumers shouldn’t have to compromise between what is good for them and what is convenient, affordable and enjoyable,” said Pratik Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, Pluckk.
“As we enter the UK, we are taking this vision to a new market where we see a growing appetite for better, cleaner food choices. This expansion is not just about taking Pluckk to the UK; it is about taking our larger mission global and making clean food a more accessible part of everyday life,” he added.
Building A Wider UK Footprint
Pluckk has established a geographically diverse presence across England and Wales, spanning Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, the Midlands, East Sussex, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
The company said this approach allows it to move beyond a traditional city-by-city expansion strategy and build a footprint across both urban and suburban markets.
Pluckk is also looking to enter local grocery chains and online marketplaces in the UK as it expands its distribution network.
The company said the UK expansion is being driven by growing consumer interest in healthier food choices. It cited a Food Standards Agency survey which found that around 75 per cent of UK consumers had made dietary changes for health reasons.
MENA, US Expansion On The Radar
The UK is the first step in Pluckk’s broader international expansion strategy. The company is evaluating opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, particularly the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as the US market.
Pluckk expects its international operations to contribute 25-30 per cent of its overall revenue as the overseas business scales.
Founded in 2021 as a premium farm-to-door fruits and vegetables platform, Pluckk has since expanded into a broader fresh food and clean-label FMCG business.
The company currently operates across more than 50 cities in India, with products available through six major quick-commerce platforms and over 1,000 dark stores. It has an annualised revenue run rate of more than Rs 140 crore and delivers over two million products a month to more than half a million households.
Its portfolio includes cold-pressed juices, frozen berries, protein bars, ketchup, smoothies, soups, meal kits and fruit-based snacks. The company said its meal kits and nutrition business has doubled in size, while its plant protein bars have grown five-fold over the past six months.
