Reliance Retail Expands 2-Hr Delivery Network As JioMart Orders Surge

Hyperlocal commerce becomes a key growth engine as Reliance Retail scales JioMart across grocery, electronics and fashion with faster deliveries

Reliance Retail has accelerated its push into India’s fast-growing quick commerce market by expanding its two-hour delivery network, with JioMart recording a more than 300 per cent year-on-year rise in average daily orders during the March quarter.
The retail arm of Reliance Industries said hyperlocal commerce has emerged as one of its fastest-growing segments, with orders also rising 29 per cent sequentially in the fourth quarter. The growth reflects increasing consumer demand for rapid doorstep delivery and Reliance’s strategy of leveraging its vast physical store network.
A major development during the quarter was the expansion of JioMart’s non-grocery quick delivery operations. Reliance integrated 682 electronics stores and more than 1,700 fashion and lifestyle outlets into its hyperlocal delivery network, enabling two-hour fulfilment in these categories.
JioMart’s footprint now extends across more than 5,100 pin codes and 1,200 cities, supported by over 3,100 stores. The company said this gives it one of the widest hyperlocal delivery networks in the country.
Reliance is also expanding its fashion delivery platform Ajio Rush, which now operates in over 600 cities with a four-hour delivery promise. This marks a significant scale-up from earlier city coverage and underlines the group’s wider omnichannel ambitions.
The company’s aggressive expansion places it in sharper competition with established quick commerce players such as Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart. However, Reliance’s extensive offline store base is seen as a strategic advantage in servicing local demand efficiently.
Reliance Retail reported gross revenue of Rs 98,232 crore for the March quarter, while continuing investments in hyperlocal delivery and digital commerce to capture India’s rapidly evolving consumption trends.
