Long-serving executive to steer growth, innovation and operational excellence at tea major
Wagh Bakri Tea Group has appointed Tushar Tripathi as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition at one of India’s prominent tea brands.
Based in Ahmedabad, Tripathi will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic vision, accelerating innovation, and ensuring sustainable growth across operations.
A veteran within the organisation, Tushar Tripathi has been associated with the Group for 17 years. Prior to his elevation, he served as Chief Operating Officer, where he led plant operations, projects, and supply chain functions.
Tripathi brings extensive experience across manufacturing, quality systems, business transformation, and logistics. During his tenure, he played a key role in strengthening operational efficiencies and expanding the company’s manufacturing and distribution footprint.
Among his notable contributions is the introduction of the first Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) in India’s tea industry, along with the implementation of global quality and food safety standards. He also led the establishment of a NABL-accredited quality laboratory, reinforcing the company’s focus on product excellence.

Commenting on the appointment, group’s executive director Paras Desai said Tripathi’s long-standing association and operational expertise make him well-suited to lead the company into its next phase of growth.
Tripathi holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and has completed management development programmes in project management and logistics at leading Indian Institutes of Management.
