Blue Tokai Cuts Prices After GST Reforms

Specialty coffee chain passes on full tax benefits to customers across 180+ cafés

Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters has announced a direct price reduction across all its cafés and menus, making it the first specialty coffee brand in India to implement the benefits of the GST Council’s recent reforms.

At its 56th meeting, the GST Council rationalised indirect tax rates on food and beverage services, including coffee, to improve affordability and support the retail and hospitality sectors.

Blue Tokai said the revised prices, to be rolled out across its 180+ outlets by the end of the month, will make its offerings more accessible without compromising quality.

Matt Chitharanjan, Co-founder and CEO, Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters, said: “The recent GST reforms are a big step forward, simplifying compliance and allowing businesses like ours to pass on more value to our customers. We’re proud to be the first in our industry to act with an immediate price reduction. This reflects what we’ve always stood for – transparency, fairness, and putting our customers first.”

Founded in 2013, Blue Tokai has grown into India’s leading specialty coffee brand, sourcing and roasting from over 180 farms and building a loyal community of coffee drinkers across the country.
