Bree Matcha Expands Portfolio With New Flavoured Range

Sanya Malhotra–backed matcha wellness brand launches three new variants and mini kits to deepen adoption in India’s fast-growing functional beverage market

Bree Matcha, the premium matcha wellness brand co-founded by actor Sanya Malhotra, Dr Kunal Shah and Siddharth Shah of Essenzaa Nutrition, has announced a major portfolio expansion with the launch of its Signature Matcha and two new flavoured variants — Strawberry Matcha and Lemongrass Matcha — along with three mini kits: the Ceremonial Mini Kit, Everyday Mini Kit and Signature Mini Kit.

The expanded range is designed to increase accessibility and adoption among both existing and first-time matcha consumers, amid rising demand within India’s ₹850-crore wellness beverage market. The brand currently offers Everyday Matcha and Ceremonial Matcha as part of its core portfolio.

Since its digital-first launch in June 2025, Bree Matcha has demonstrated strong early momentum. The brand recorded multiple inventory sell-outs within its first month, sold over 50,000 cups, achieved a 15 per cent customer repeat rate, and partnered with more than 50 cafés and restaurants. It has also expanded distribution nationwide via quick-commerce platforms and built a community of more than 10,000 matcha enthusiasts.

The newly launched range introduces three distinct profiles tailored to diverse palates and wellness needs. The Signature Matcha offers a balanced flavour profile — smoother than everyday matcha yet approachable compared with ceremonial grade — with an earthy, clean energy finish and subtle nutty aroma. It is designed for a seamless daily ritual prepared by simply whisking with lukewarm water.

Lemongrass Matcha combines premium Japanese matcha with the calming properties of lemongrass, delivering a crisp, aromatic and citrus-led profile with natural monk-fruit sweetness. The variant is formulated as a refreshing, gut-friendly beverage that can be prepared instantly.

Strawberry Matcha caters to consumers seeking a café-style experience at home, offering a creamy, fruity blend with a soft strawberry aroma, monk-fruit sweetness and antioxidant-rich matcha for an indulgent yet health-aligned daily ritual.

All three variants will also be available in mini kits featuring the matcha blend alongside a whisk and spoon, making them suitable for gifting and for consumers experimenting with different matcha styles.

Sourced from Kagoshima, Japan, and developed using Essenzaa’s clinically backed formulations, Bree’s new line continues to emphasise the functional credentials of matcha — including L-theanine–driven calm energy, EGCG antioxidants, gut support, steady focus and no caffeine crash. The expansion reflects the brand’s origin story, rooted in blending Sanya Malhotra’s personal matcha ritual with Essenzaa’s scientific expertise in functional nutrition.

“Since launch, we’ve seen incredible momentum — a clear shift in how urban India embraces wellness rituals. This new flavoured range builds on that energy, making matcha even more accessible and inviting for newer audiences,” said Sanya Malhotra, Co-Founder, Bree Matcha.

“Whether you’re trying matcha for the first time or it’s part of your daily routine, there’s now a Bree variant for every lifestyle moment. The response to our core range shows India is ready for scientifically backed, culturally relevant wellness,” said Dr Kunal Shah, Co-Founder, Bree Matcha, and Founder, Essenzaa Nutrition.

“The flavoured line is our answer to growing consumer demand. With these additions, Bree becomes a part of everyday occasions — from morning routines to festive moments. We’re building a matcha culture for modern India,” added Siddharth Shah, Co-Founder, Bree Matcha, and Founder, Essenzaa Nutrition. The newly launched products are now live for pre-order on the Bree Matcha website, with shipping commencing from 15 December.
