McDonald’s India Steps Up Indulgence With Cheesy Burgers

The QSR major’s North & East India arm reintroduces its Signature Collection, tapping into rising demand for indulgent, flavour-forward burgers with locally sourced ingredients

McDonald’s India – North and East, operated by Connaught Plaza Restaurants (CPRL), has introduced two new premium burger variants—Cheesy Chicken and Cheesy Mushroom—under its Signature Collection, marking what the company describes as its entry into India’s evolving “flavour-flex” era.

The launch reflects a noticeable shift in consumer preferences over the past year, with customers increasingly seeking burgers that offer greater depth, richness and a more crafted eating experience. Responding to this trend, McDonald’s has brought back its Signature Collection with two indulgent offerings designed around bold flavour layering, varied textures and an elevated mouthfeel.

Priced at Rs 239 each, the Cheesy Mushroom burger features a cheesy mushroom patty combined with savoury Italian sauce, tangy gherkins and crisp lettuce, all served in a protein bun. The Cheesy Chicken variant includes a flame-grilled chicken patty layered with a juicy egg patty, complemented by tangy habanero sauce, gherkins and crunchy lettuce, also housed in a protein bun.

Staying aligned with its “Proudly Indian” philosophy, McDonald’s has sourced all key ingredients—including lettuce, mushrooms, chicken and eggs—from Indian suppliers. The company said this approach supports domestic farmers and partners while ensuring freshness and consistency tailored to Indian taste preferences.

Commenting on the launch, Rajeev Ranjan, Managing Director, McDonald’s India – North and East, said the new burgers were designed to elevate everyday consumption. “With the Signature Collection, we’re turning everyday burgers into something truly indulgent. These new Cheesy Mushroom and Cheesy Chicken variants bring together thoughtfully layered ingredients that deliver exceptional mouthfeel, texture and satisfaction, while pairing global flavours with ingredients proudly sourced from India,” he said.

With the reintroduction of the Signature Collection, McDonald’s continues to underline its focus on menu innovation and quality, aiming to offer multi-sensorial dining experiences that resonate with evolving consumer aspirations.

The Signature Collection is now available across McDonald’s restaurants in North and East India via dine-in, takeaway, drive-through and delivery platforms, including third-party aggregators.
