Spanish frozen yoghurt brand smöoy has opened its first Indian outlet in New Delhi, bringing its frozen yoghurt-led dessert format to the market
Spanish frozen yoghurt brand smöoy has made its India debut with its first store in New Delhi, entering the country’s growing organised dessert market. The company has started operations with a frozen yoghurt-led menu and said the outlet will serve as the starting point for its expansion in India.
The New Delhi store offers frozen yoghurt in multiple flavours, including the brand’s +protein yoghurt, along with waffles and crêpes. Customers can customise their frozen yoghurt with toppings such as fruits, chocolate, nuts and sauces. The company said its frozen yoghurt products are low in fat, high in fibre and gluten-free.
“We are delighted to begin this journey in New Delhi, as India is an exciting market for smöoy’s global expansion. We look forward to introducing our signature frozen yoghurt to Indian consumers,” said Jose Manuel Guillen Martinez, CEO, smöoy International.
Sangeeta Nagar, Director, smöoy India, said the first outlet marks the beginning of the company’s operations in India and will introduce its frozen yoghurt concept to consumers in the country.
Founded in Spain in 2010, smöoy has a presence in more than 15 countries. The company has not disclosed its investment in India or provided details of the number of stores it plans to open or the timeline for its expansion in the country.
