The limited-edition festive menu will be available from August 16 to 26 across nine select Starbucks stores in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Kozhikode
Tata Starbucks is marking the Onam season with its first-ever Onam-inspired menu, bringing traditional Kerala flavours to its coffeehouse experience through a limited-edition selection of savoury food, desserts and beverages.
Available from August 16 to 26, the festive menu will be offered across nine select Starbucks stores in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Kozhikode.
The menu draws on Kerala’s culinary traditions and reimagines familiar ingredients and flavours in contemporary formats. The offering includes savoury options such as the Avial Inji Puli Wrap, Porciha Kozhi Wrap and Nadan Kozhi Puff.
The Avial Inji Puli Wrap combines a Kerala-style avial filling made with seasonal vegetables with a sweet and tangy inji puli sauce. The Porciha Kozhi Wrap features Kerala-style fried chicken, fresh greens and parotta, while the Nadan Kozhi Puff pairs slow-roasted chicken with aromatic Kerala spices in a flaky pastry.
The festive offering extends to desserts inspired by Kerala’s traditional ingredients. The Nendrapazham Jaggery Coconut Strudel combines Nendran banana, ghee and jaggery, while the Nendrapazham Jaggery Loaf Cake brings together ripe Nendran banana and jaggery. The Jackfruit Swiss Roll features a soft sponge layered with jackfruit cream.
Starbucks has also introduced two limited-edition beverages centred on jackfruit, an ingredient closely associated with Kerala’s culinary culture.
The Jackfruit Flat White combines Starbucks’ coffee with the tropical sweetness of jackfruit and warm cinnamon, while the Jackfruit Cold Brew brings jackfruit notes to the brand’s signature Cold Brew.
Mitali Maheshwari, Head of Product and Marketing, TATA Starbucks, said the company wanted its first Onam-inspired menu to bring the spirit of the festival to life through savoury favourites, festive desserts and beverages rooted in Kerala’s culinary culture.
She added that ingredients including Nendran banana, jackfruit, avial and inji puli had been thoughtfully reimagined through a Starbucks lens, with the aim of making the festive menu part of customers’ Onam celebrations.
The launch marks Tata Starbucks’ effort to localise its menu around regional culinary traditions while retaining its coffeehouse format, bringing Kerala-inspired flavours to customers during the harvest festival.
