The coffee chain has opened two outlets in Visakhapatnam, taking its South India footprint beyond 100 cafés and its national network past 240
Third Wave Coffee plans to open 100 additional cafés by FY27, taking its national store count to 320, as the coffee and food quick-service restaurant chain expands its footprint across India. The company has entered Andhra Pradesh with two cafés in Visakhapatnam, at Waltair Road and Inorbit Mall, taking its South India presence beyond 100 cafés.
Third Wave Coffee said the Visakhapatnam outlets mark its entry into Andhra Pradesh and are part of its strategy to expand across both established and emerging markets. It said the city’s expanding IT and academic ecosystem and growing interest in specialty coffee make it an attractive market for the brand. The company currently operates more than 240 cafés across India. In South India, it has a presence in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mysuru, while its expansion in FY26 also took it to markets including Ahmedabad, Agra and Kolkata.
“We’re excited to bring the Third Wave Coffee experience to Andhra Pradesh with the launch of our cafés in Visakhapatnam. The city’s vibrant culture, expanding IT and academic ecosystem, and growing appreciation for specialty coffee make it a compelling destination as we deepen our presence across South India. As we look ahead, the South will remain a key pillar of our expansion strategy. Backed by our Food Innovation Lab and state-of-the-art roastery, we remain committed to offering our signature food and beverage experience as we scale into new markets and serve more coffee lovers across the country,” said Rajat Luthra, CEO, Third Wave Coffee.
The company said its expansion will focus on specialty coffee, food innovation and technology-enabled experiences. Its cafés offer specialty and single-origin coffees, baked products and other food items, while its app provides technology-enabled services to customers.
Third Wave Coffee was founded in 2016 by Sushant Goel, Anirudh Sharma and Ayush Bathwal. Alongside its café business, the company has also launched Third Rush Desserts, a dessert-focused brand currently available in Bengaluru and Kolkata, with plans for phased expansion across India.
