Zomato Initiates 15-min Food Delivery Feature In Mumbai & Bengaluru

Zomato Faces Tax Trouble, Rs 23 Crore Demand In Karnataka

The newly added 15-minute delivery feature offers quick-to-prepare, ready-to-eat meals from participating restaurants

Amid intense competition in the fast-growing quick commerce segment, Zomato, a food delivery company, has initiated a soft rollout of a 15-minute food delivery service. Even though the company is yet to make the notification public, the service is currently being shown via a dedicated tab on Zomato’s app in select areas of Bengaluru and Mumbai.

The newly added “15-minute delivery” feature offers quick-to-prepare and ready-to-eat meals from participating restaurants. Similar to Swiggy’s Bolt, Zomato’s strategy limits deliveries to restaurants within a two-kilometre radius, ensuring swift order fulfillment.

This latest move underscores the company’s foray into the booming rapid-delivery market, which has become a significant differentiator in the food delivery industry. Zomato’s quick-delivery initiative comes shortly after its Blinkit unit announced ‘Bistro,’ a service set to deliver healthy snacks, juices, and meals in record time.

Competitors are also doubling down on ultra-fast delivery services. Swiggy’s Bolt, launched in October 2024, now fulfills five per cent of the platform’s total food delivery orders, while Zepto has introduced Zepto Cafe, a dedicated app catering to ultra-fast food delivery demands.

As Zomato refines its offering, the race to dominate the quick-commerce landscape continues to heat up, with speed becoming the ultimate battleground.
