Allcargo Logistics Reports Surge in Consumer Durable Shipments Amid Summer Demand

Logistics major expands technology-enabled distribution network as demand for cooling appliances and white goods accelerates across India

India’s rising demand for consumer durables is fuelling a sharp increase in logistics activity, prompting Allcargo Logistics to expand its distribution and transshipment network as manufacturers race to keep pace with growing consumption across urban and emerging markets.

The integrated logistics company said shipments of appliances, electronics and white goods have increased significantly, driven largely by strong summer demand and deeper market penetration by consumer durable brands. The trend has intensified the need for faster inventory movement and technology-enabled supply chains capable of supporting higher volumes and quicker replenishment cycles.

To capitalise on the growth, Allcargo Logistics has expanded its infrastructure footprint nationwide, increasing its transshipment centre network from 21 facilities to 71 and extending distribution coverage through its newly launched Allcargo Extended Reach (AER) network.

The company said the expansion has lifted mapped PIN code coverage from around 21,000 locations to more than 32,000, while direct serviceable PIN codes have more than doubled from 4,900 to over 10,000.

“India’s consumer durables sector today demands supply chains that are agile, technology-enabled, and capable of scaling rapidly across diverse consumption markets,” said Ketan Kulkarni, Managing Director and CEO of Allcargo Logistics.

The company currently operates 76 distribution centres serving consumer durable manufacturers and retailers, supported by a network of technology-enabled transshipment facilities aimed at improving inventory flow and market access.

The expansion comes as higher temperatures across the country boost sales of cooling appliances and air-conditioning equipment, leading manufacturers to increase inventory replenishment and distribution activity. Industry demand is also being supported by rising consumption in Tier II and Tier III cities, where consumer durable brands are strengthening their presence.

Allcargo said its integrated logistics ecosystem combines warehousing, first- and last-mile connectivity, air express and ground express services, allowing manufacturers to manage end-to-end supply chains during peak sales periods such as summer and festive seasons.

Alongside physical infrastructure investments, the company is accelerating digitalisation efforts through real-time cargo tracking, cloud-based systems and integrated operational platforms designed to improve supply chain visibility and planning efficiency.

The logistics provider said its consultative logistics model enables customised solutions for seasonal demand fluctuations, inventory management and multi-location distribution requirements, as consumer durable companies increasingly seek scalable supply chain partners to support growth.

The latest expansion underscores how logistics operators are investing aggressively in network capacity and technology as India’s consumer durables market continues to expand, creating fresh demand for faster and more efficient distribution capabilities.
