Apple on Wednesday unveiled its newest office in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Nestled at the heart of the city in Minsk Square, the 15-storey facility is Apple’s latest effort at expansion in India.
The Minsk Square office is equipped to house up to 1,200 employees, featuring dedicated lab spaces, collaborative areas and the renowned Caffe Macs. Its strategic proximity to the Cubbon Park Metro station will ensure convenient public transit options for the workforce.
This is Apple’s second office in Bengaluru, with the first located in UB City. The teams in these offices will be engaged in a broad spectrum of Apple’s business, encompassing software, hardware, services, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T), operations, and customer support. The company has already made significant contributions to the Indian technology ecosystem, with additional offices in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Gurugram.
Designed with both aesthetics and sustainability in mind, the office boasts interiors crafted from locally-sourced materials, including stone, wood, and fabric. Native plants adorn the workspace, aligning with Apple’s global design standards. The company aims to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rating for the Bengaluru office, showcasing its dedication to environmental responsibility.
“Apple is thrilled to expand in India with our new office in the heart of Bengaluru. This dynamic city is already home to so many of our talented teams, including software engineering and hardware technologies, operations, customer support, and more. Like everything we do at Apple, this workspace is created to foster innovation, creativity, and connection. It’s an amazing space for our teams to collaborate,” the company said in a statement.
Apple’s sustainability initiatives take center stage at the Bengaluru office, as the entire facility is set to operate on 100 per cent renewable energy. This aligns with Apple’s global commitment to carbon neutrality since 2020 and reliance on renewable energy since 2018.
The company’s presence in India has steadily grown, celebrating 25 years in the country with the inauguration of official retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi in 2023. Apple now employs close to 3,000 people in India.
