Meesho Reports 1.6 Cr New App Installs During Mega Blockbuster Sale, With Strong Demand In Footwear And Kidswear Categories

Meesho, India’s e-commerce marketplace, has claimed to witness a good festive sale during its flagship ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale’ that went live from 6 October to 15 October, 2023. According to the official statement released by the brand, by offering a wide selection of quality items at budget-friendly rates, particularly in non-electronic categories, the Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale effectively catered to the festive shopping desires of millions of Indians while enhancing Meesho’s distinct market presence.

As per the company, With 120 crore customer visits, categories such as Home & Kitchen, Fashion as well as Beauty & Personal Care garnered more than 72 orders per second. During the Mega Blockbuster Sale, Meesho saw 1.6 crore new app instals.

Customers shopped for festive decorations such as jharokhas, diya thalis, rangoli stencils, torans, lanterns and string lights. The company saw 80 per cent of orders coming from smaller Tier II and III cities like Amravati, Aurangabad, Dehradun, Nellore, Solapur, and Warangal.

With orders coming in from across the country, small businesses on Meesho are said to have witnessed significant growth during the festive sale event. Ahead of the Mega Blockbuster Sale, Meesho has onboarded nearly 2 lakh new sellers.

The company added that it also saw its recent offering for branded products ‘Meesho Mall’ witness 3X growth in orders over business-as-usual (BAU) days. Regional and value brands alike are seeing growth across categories such as Personal Care & Beauty, Footwear, Apparel and Electronic Accessories. Nearly 70 per cent of these orders came from first-time Mall users, reinforcing the brand’s goal to become an enabler for several emerging and regional brands looking to tap a larger audience across the country.

Meesho’s Maha Diwali Sale will be live from 27 October to 31 October.
