American retail company Walmart is set to harness artificial intelligence (AI) in its drone delivery looking forward to improving its customers’ shopping experiences. Unveiling the plan, the multinational retailer said the goal is to reach 1.8 million additional households in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area later this year.
Walmart has been utilising drone delivery for quite some time now and has completed nearly 20,000 deliveries across seven states to date. However, the expansion will display more efficiency to meet the growing demand with AI.
It has been reportedly found that no other company has reached the Walmart-like level of providing an innovative customer experience, making the retailer stand different from its competitors, as per reports.
Additionally, the company has notified that among its AI advances it is also gearing up to introduce an AI-powered search experience for iOS customers, suggesting relevant products for consumer queries ranging from football watch parties to bridal showers.
Walmart also said that it’s planning to use AI to learn consumers’ shopping habits, helping it to remain stocked with customers’ favourites. Furthermore, the company will have a beta platform allowing customers to create virtual outfits and get feedback from their friends.
