Performance apparel brand closes Bengaluru outreach campaign after selling over 9.8 lakh sunscreen jackets and generating more than Rs 8.7 crore in revenue
Performance apparel brand Blue Tyga is closing in on a significant milestone, with sales of its flagship Sunscreen Jacket nearing the one-million mark amid growing consumer awareness around UV exposure and heat protection.
The company announced that it has sold more than 9.8 lakh Sunscreen Jackets to date, generating over Rs 8.7 crore in revenue, as demand rises for functional apparel designed to address India’s increasingly extreme weather conditions.
The milestone coincides with the conclusion of Blue Tyga’s ‘Sunscreen on Wheels’ campaign in Bengaluru, an outdoor activation aimed at raising awareness about wearable sun protection through one of the city’s most visible modes of transport.
Bengaluru Campaign Takes Sun Protection to the Streets
The campaign, which ran during the peak summer season, featured 20 branded autorickshaws travelling across major Bengaluru neighbourhoods including Koramangala, Indiranagar, Whitefield, Electronic City and MG Road.
The vehicles carried product messaging and QR codes linking directly to the company’s website, enabling consumers to learn more about sun-protective apparel while going about their daily routines.
According to Blue Tyga, the initiative was designed to move conversations around UV protection beyond digital platforms and engage consumers in real-world environments where they experience heat and sun exposure firsthand.
“As temperatures continue to rise across India, consumers are increasingly looking for practical ways to stay comfortable and protected outdoors,” said Nihal TC, Co-Founder and CEO of Blue Tyga.
“Through the Sunscreen on Wheels campaign, we wanted to take the conversation around wearable sun protection beyond digital platforms and into real-world settings where people experience these challenges every day. Bengaluru’s autorickshaws provided a highly visible and relatable medium to engage consumers and build awareness around a category that is steadily gaining relevance,” he added.
Digital Reach Extends Campaign Impact
Beyond the on-ground activation, the campaign was amplified through creator collaborations, community-driven content and Blue Tyga’s social media channels.
The company said campaign-related content generated more than two lakh cumulative views and reached over one lakh users across Instagram and LinkedIn, helping expand awareness of sun-protective clothing among digital audiences.
Functional Apparel Emerging as Growth Driver
Blue Tyga’s Sunscreen Jacket has become the company’s flagship product and a key contributor to overall business growth.
Across its wider portfolio, the brand has sold more than 17.5 lakh products spanning over 16 categories, reflecting increasing consumer interest in performance-led apparel that combines comfort, utility and everyday wearability.
The company said rising awareness around climate-conscious consumption, outdoor wellness and functional fashion is driving demand for apparel designed specifically for Indian weather conditions.
As consumers increasingly seek practical solutions to cope with higher temperatures and prolonged sun exposure, Blue Tyga plans to continue expanding its range of performance-oriented clothing and wearable protection products.
Founded as a research-led performance apparel company, Blue Tyga focuses on developing clothing solutions tailored to urban lifestyles, with products spanning sun-protective apparel, performance wear and everyday essentials.
