Amazon To Expand ‘Now’ Quick Delivery Service To 100 Cities

Ecommerce major to scale ultra-fast delivery network with 1,000+ micro-fulfilment centres, targeting metros and smaller cities amid rising quick commerce competition

Amazon on Monday said it plans to sharply expand its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, targeting a presence in 100 cities across India as competition in the quick commerce segment intensifies.

To support this expansion, the company will scale up its dedicated logistics network to more than 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres (MFCs). The service will be rolled out across a mix of metro and smaller cities, including Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Meerut, Mysuru, Panipat, Kochi, Amritsar, Mangaluru and Visakhapatnam, alongside existing markets such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru.

Amazon Now currently offers a curated selection of thousands of daily-use products, ranging from groceries and fresh produce to frozen foods, personal care items, beauty and fashion products, small appliances, baby care goods, pet supplies and healthcare supplements, all delivered within minutes.

“Customers continue to enjoy Amazon Now, appreciating our delivery speed, value and selection—especially the quality of fresh produce sourced directly from farmers,” said Harsh Goyal, Vice President, Everyday Essentials, Amazon India. “Encouraged by this success, we have accelerated our expansion plans and will scale Amazon Now to 100 cities, supported by a network of over 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres.”

He added that the expansion is expected to benefit more than 16,000 farmers by enabling them to directly reach consumers through sellers using Amazon’s technology and logistics network.

The scale-up is part of the company’s previously announced investment of over Rs 2,800 crore (around USD 300 million), aimed at strengthening its operations infrastructure, with a focus on employee safety, health and financial wellbeing.

Customers can check whether the service is available in their area through the Amazon.in app by clicking on the ‘Now’ icon on the homepage.
