Ecommerce giant strengthens India’s digital economy with hands-on training, grassroots engagement, and inclusive skilling initiatives
Flipkart, India’s homegrown ecommerce marketplace, has shared significant milestones under its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), reinforcing its mission to build future-ready talent and strengthen the digital economy.
According to the company’s official statement, since launch, over 6,400 learners have successfully completed structured digital learning programmes and earned certifications, while nearly 700 trainees this year gained hands-on industry exposure across Flipkart’s extensive supply chain facilities. The Academy’s Warehouse Associate Training Module has prepared candidates for essential roles such as Picker, Putter, Packer, Segregator, Sorter, Quality Check Executive, Data Entry Operator, and Issue Resolution Executive.
Expanding its skilling ecosystem, Flipkart’s eKartavya programme has trained more than 2,100 candidates in logistics and supply chain management, supporting grassroots community development and environmental responsibility.
Collaborations have further deepened local impact. At the SCOA–ITI Kalyani Centre of Excellence Lab, over 110 candidates were trained in specialised last-mile delivery modules. In Varanasi, under Project eDAP with the Divyangjan Department, 17 differently-abled youth were trained and integrated into the workforce, highlighting Flipkart’s commitment to inclusivity.
In line with its MoU with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) under PMKVY 4.0, Flipkart is working to upskill thousands of youth across India. Candidates undergo a 7-day classroom programme followed by 45 days of hands-on exposure, combining digital learning with practical training at Flipkart facilities.
With a focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, Flipkart SCOA is bridging the skill gap, creating employment opportunities, and boosting local economies while aligning with national priorities such as Skill India Mission and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
