With orders and new customers surging from tier 2, 3 and 4 cities across India, Shopsy by Flipkart, a hypervalue platform, saw high engagement from younger shoppers, robust category growth, and a sharp uptick in repeat buyers during the festive season.
Shopsy’s Festive Insights revealed that this festive season showcased strong contributions from emerging Bharat centres. Top tier 3, 4 hubs included Vellore, Medinipur, East Godavari, Chittoor, Bardhaman, Bhagalpur, Puri, Agartala, and Bankura. These markets not only drove volumes but also showcased increased demand for branded, quality-verified selections, especially during Diwali.

Brand trust was underscored during the festive period, as repeat customer contribution climbed from the usual 86 per cent to a high of 90 per cent.
“The 2025 festive season successfully brought shoppers from every corner of India to Shopsy, from Vellore and East Godavari to Agartala and Bhagalpur,” stated Kapil Thirani, Vice-President, Shopsy and Flipkart Marketplace, Flipkart.
Category Trends: Electronics And Gifting Surge
Electronics emerged as the highest-growth category, followed by beauty, grooming and makeup. Nuts and dry fruits emerged as favored gifting options, while skincare products and winter essentials saw record spikes. Key high-growth products and categories included wireless headphones, diapers, jewellery sets, moisturisers/body lotions. The brand stated that festive-focused categories also trended, such as Bollywood-style sarees, gold-plated jewellery, dry fruits, and gifting bundles.
The fashion category saw strong performance across several sub-categories. For women, top-performing items included salwar suits, kurtas, dresses, and suitcases. In men’s fashion, sandals, jeans, and ethnic wear were the leading sub-categories.
