Company unveils new Hitachi air conditioner range for Eastern India and opens Engineering Excellence Centre in Kolkata with Techno India University
Bosch Home Comfort India has unveiled an aggressive expansion strategy for Eastern India, betting on rising demand for cooling solutions in the region through a broader rollout of its Hitachi air conditioner portfolio.
The company said it is targeting key eastern markets including West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and neighbouring states with a wide range of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)-compliant products designed for local weather conditions and changing consumer preferences.
The announcement was made at a leadership meet held at Novotel Kolkata – Hotel & Residences, where Sanjay Sudhakaran, Managing Director of Bosch Home Comfort India, outlined the company’s regional growth plans.
As part of the expansion, Bosch Home Comfort India introduced several new products under the Hitachi Cooling & Heating brand. The flagship SUMO Series has been positioned as a heavy-duty cooling solution built for India’s humid summers, offering performance of up to 7,400W and aimed at larger spaces.
The company also launched the Signature Series of 5-star and 3-star inverter ACs, available in premium finishes such as Magnum Grey, Brushed Silver and Marble White. The range combines smart features with energy-efficient cooling for modern households.
Further additions include a slim-design 1-Way Cassette model with a five-year warranty on PCB and compressor, along with a Self-Clean Range of 4-Way Cassette systems in 2.0 TR, 3.0 TR and 4.0 TR inverter variants for commercial and residential applications.
Bosch said the 2026 Hitachi portfolio has been engineered to cope with Eastern India’s extreme humidity and high summer temperatures. Smart features include AirCloud Go app and voice controls, Energy Tracker for consumption monitoring, Hybrid Convertible Modes, Octa Sensor technology and NanoTech anti-corrosion coating for greater durability.
Alongside the product launch, the company inaugurated an Engineering Excellence Centre (EEC) in Kolkata in partnership with Techno India University. The centre will focus on technical training, service innovation and customer engagement, while providing students, technicians and channel partners with practical exposure to advanced HVAC technologies.
Bosch said the Kolkata facility would also support workforce development and improve installation and after-sales service standards across metropolitan cities as well as fast-growing tier-II and tier-III towns in the East.
“Eastern India is fast emerging as one of the most dynamic markets for advanced cooling solutions, and we are proud to bring our largest-ever portfolio to the region,” said Sanjay Sudhakaran, Managing Director, Bosch Home Comfort India Ltd.
To strengthen market reach, the company plans to expand its dealer and distributor network across the East, backed by targeted marketing campaigns, community outreach initiatives and an enhanced service framework.
Bosch Home Comfort Group, the global parent entity, said it employs around 24,000 people worldwide and reported preliminary sales of around €4.4 billion in 2025, excluding newly acquired units.
