Electronics Mart India Q2 PAT Rises 149%, H1 Profit Jumps 326%

EMIL reports 30 per cent revenue growth to Rs 4,319 crore in H1 FY27, while Ebitda nearly doubles; improved margins, strong same-store sales growth and operating efficiencies support performance

Electronics Mart India (EMIL), one of India’s largest electronics retailers, reported a 326 per cent year-on-year jump in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 161 crore for the half year ended 30 September 2026, compared with the corresponding period last year.

Revenue from operations grew 30 per cent to Rs 4,319 crore in H1 FY27, while Ebitda increased 93 per cent to Rs 369 crore, reflecting improved operating leverage and margin expansion.

For the second quarter of FY27, the company reported a 19 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 1,900 crore. PAT rose 149 per cent to Rs 40 crore, while Ebitda increased 61 per cent to Rs 131 crore.

Despite the seasonally softer quarter for consumer durables, EMIL recorded same-store sales growth (SSSG) of 16.5 per cent, indicating continued demand across its retail network.

Ebitda Margin Expands To 8.6 per cent In H1
Improved profitability remained a key highlight of EMIL’s first-half performance. Gross profit increased 49 per cent year-on-year to Rs 710 crore, with gross profit margin expanding 210 basis points (bps) to 16.4 per cent.

Ebitda margin improved 280 bps to 8.6 per cent, while PAT margin expanded 260 bps to 3.7 per cent.

In Q2 FY27, gross profit grew 31 per cent to Rs 293 crore, with margins improving 130 bps to 15.4 per cent. Ebitda margin expanded 180 bps to 6.9 per cent.

South And North Clusters Drive Growth
Growth remained broad-based across EMIL’s geographical clusters during the first half.

The South Cluster recorded 28 per cent revenue growth, with Ebitda margin expanding 320 bps to 9.3 per cent. The North Cluster registered 36 per cent revenue growth, while its Ebitda margin improved 240 bps to 3.4 per cent, supported by store maturity, scale and operating efficiencies.

The North Cluster delivered particularly strong momentum in Q2, with revenue rising 45 per cent year-on-year and Ebitda margin improving 430 bps to 1.6 per cent.

Working Capital Cycle Improves To 61 Days
EMIL’s operating performance was also supported by strong like-for-like growth and improved working capital management. H1 same-store sales growth stood at 27.5 per cent, while pre-Ind AS operating cash flow reached Rs 304 crore.

The company’s working capital cycle improved to 61 days from 77 days, indicating better working capital efficiency.

EMIL added six net stores during the first half, taking its total retail network to 229 stores across more than 100 cities. The company is also preparing to enter West Bengal as its next growth cluster.

Mobiles and large appliances remained significant contributors to business growth, while demand for premium and emerging product categories supported the overall performance.

Mobiles Sales Grow 31 per cent, Air Conditioners 53 per cent In Q2
Commenting on the performance, Karan Bajaj, CEO of Electronics Mart India, said the company delivered growth across key financial and operating parameters in H1 FY27.

He highlighted that mobile sales grew 31 per cent in Q2, driven by new smartphone launches and continued demand for existing models. Air conditioner sales increased 53 per cent despite the off-season.

Premium and emerging categories, including built-in appliances, dishwashers, tablets and wearables, also recorded strong double-digit growth. The company’s average ticket size increased 15 per cent, reflecting growing traction in premium categories.

Bajaj said the South market continued to be a scaled and profitable growth engine, while the North Cluster was progressing towards improved profitability as newer stores matured and achieved scale.

He added that more than half of EMIL’s store network was less than four years old, providing further scope for margin improvement through a better product mix and operating leverage.

The company expects its planned entry into West Bengal to provide another growth opportunity. It also intends to build on festive demand, strengthen customer experience and maintain its focus on working capital efficiency.

With revenue growth, expanding margins and improving cash flows, EMIL remains focused on strengthening its position in India’s organised consumer durables retail market through geographical expansion, premiumisation and operational efficiencies.
