Cantabil Retail India Passes On GST Benefits With Revised Pricing

Cantabil welcomes GST rationalisation, pledges full tax benefit transfer and transparent pricing across outlets and online platforms

Cantabil Retail (India) has welcomed the Government of India’s decision to rationalise Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates for the apparel sector, confirming that it will pass on the entire benefit of reduced tax directly to its customers. The change will apply across all of Cantabil’s retail outlets nationwide as well as its e-commerce platforms.

Under the revised framework, apparel and footwear priced up to Rs 1,000 will continue to attract 5 per cent GST, ensuring no change for customers in this segment. However, the significant benefit comes in the mid-range category, where apparel priced between Rs 1,001 and Rs 2,500 will now be taxed at 5 per cent instead of 12 per cent. This 7 per cent reduction will directly translate into lower prices for consumers.

Conversely, apparel priced above Rs 2,500 will be taxed at 18 per cent, up from the earlier 12 per cent. Cantabil has assured that the increase will be applied solely to the tax portion to remain compliant, while maintaining transparency in pricing.

Speaking on the development, Deepak Bansal, Director, Cantabil Retail (India), said: “We welcome the government’s decision to rationalise GST rates in the interest of consumers and the retail industry. At Cantabil, our priority has always been customer-centricity and ethical business practices. We are pleased to extend the benefit of the reduced GST burden directly to our customers, ensuring fair pricing and enhanced value with every purchase.”

With a robust retail footprint across India, Cantabil has consistently positioned itself as a trusted brand delivering premium fashion at competitive prices. The company emphasised that this move aligns with its long-standing ethos of transparency, integrity, and customer-first retailing.

By implementing the GST changes swiftly and fairly, Cantabil reinforces its commitment to customer welfare while continuing to offer quality apparel and progressive shopping experiences. The company stated that it will ensure a smooth transition during the implementation phase, with complete price clarity across physical stores and digital platforms.
