DMart Reports 3.8% Profit Growth In Q2

Avenue Supermarts posts Rs 685 crore net profit as revenue increases 17.5 per cent amid retail expansion

Avenue Supermarts, which operates the DMart retail chain, reported a 3.8 per cent increase in quarterly net profit, maintaining growth despite competitive market conditions.
The company’s net profit reached Rs 685 crore for the three months ending September 2025, compared to Rs 660 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations grew 17.5 per cent to Rs 14,710 crore.
The retailer continued its store expansion during the quarter, adding nine new outlets to reach a total of 397 stores across India. The company has maintained its focus on value retail, offering everyday essentials at competitive prices.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) increased to Rs 1,125 crore from Rs 1,000 crore a year earlier. The Ebitda margin improved to 7.6 per cent from 7.2 per cent, indicating better operational efficiency.
Same-store sales growth remained positive during the quarter, though the company did not disclose specific figures. The management noted that inflationary pressures on certain food items continued to affect consumer spending patterns.
Total income for the quarter reached Rs 14,900 crore, while expenses stood at Rs 14,050 crore. The retail chain saw consistent customer footfall across its stores, with shoppers continuing to prefer its value-for-money proposition.
The company follows the April-March financial year, making the July-September period the second quarter of financial year 2025-26. Avenue Supermarts shares have shown resilience in the stock market, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s business model.
The retail sector in India continues to face competitive pressures from both organised and unorganised players, with consumers becoming increasingly price-sensitive amid economic uncertainties.
