Metro Brands reported a 12.2 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations to Rs 730 crore in the second quarter of FY27, as a shift in the festive calendar moved a larger share of consumer demand into the following quarter.
The footwear retailer’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) rose 15.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 198 crore during the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The Ebitda margin stood at 27.1 per cent.
Profit after tax (PAT) increased 12 per cent year-on-year to Rs 77 crore, with a PAT margin of 10.6 per cent, supported by an expansion in gross margins.
ECommerce Revenue Grows 12%
Metro Brands continued to expand its omnichannel business, with e-commerce sales, including omnichannel transactions, growing 12 per cent year-on-year. The channel contributed 14.2 per cent of the company’s revenue during the quarter.
The company opened 21 new stores during the period, while nine stores were closed, as it continued to expand its retail network.
Metro Brands said the quarter also saw continued investments in talent and brand-building, alongside higher employee costs following minimum wage revisions.
Company Focuses On Festive Demand
Nissan Joseph, CEO of Metro Brands, said the company delivered double-digit growth despite the shift in festive-season sales into the subsequent quarter.
He added that Ebitda growth outpaced revenue growth, reflecting the company’s focus on operational execution and margin management.
As the company enters the key festive period, it remains focused on strengthening its brand portfolio, expanding its retail presence and investing in capabilities to support long-term growth.
Retail Network Spans 223 Cities
Metro Brands operates 1,053 stores across 223 cities in 31 states and Union Territories. The company continues to expand its omnichannel capabilities and retail footprint through a portfolio of brands and store formats.
The latest results come as the retailer prepares to capitalise on festive-season demand in the third quarter of FY27, following the shift in the timing of consumer spending.
