IAS officer to take charge from 4 Jan 2026 as Sandeep Nanduri resigns following withdrawal of nomination
India’s Titan Company said on Tuesday it has appointed Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, as chairperson and additional director on its board, representing Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO). The appointment will come into effect from 4 January 2026.
“We Inform you that, based on the nomination received from TIDCO, co-promoter of the company, the Board vide circular resolution dated 29 December 2025, which was duly approved by requisite majority, approved the appointment of Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, IAS as Chairperson and Additional Director on the Board of the company with effect from 4 January 2026,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
Sharma will succeed Arun Roy, also an IAS officer, as chairperson. Roy will continue to serve on Titan’s board as a director. The appointment follows a nomination by TIDCO, a co-promoter of the company.
Titan also said that Sandeep Nanduri, a non-executive, non-independent director, has resigned from the board with effect from Jan. 4, 2026, following the withdrawal of his nomination by TIDCO.
“I hereby tender my resignation as Director of Titan company with effect from 4th January 2026. I take this opportunity to thank all the Directors of the Board of Titan company for the courtesy and co-operation extended to me during my tenure as Director in this company,” said Sandeep Nanduri, IAS and Managing Director.
Titan said Sharma will serve as a non-executive, non-independent director and will be subject to retirement by rotation. Shareholder approval will be sought within the timelines prescribed under India’s listing regulations through a postal ballot.
A 1995-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Sharma has held senior administrative roles across industrial development, finance and governance. She was on central deputation with India’s Department of Space from April 2019 to October 2025, serving as joint secretary and later additional secretary in Bengaluru.
The company also said, ” Sharma is not related to any Director and or Key Managerial Personnel and or Promoters of the Company.” They further clarified that Sharma is also not barred by any regulatory authority from holding the post.
