Mahindra, L’Oréal Open Fully Women Operated Warehouse

India's Industrial, Logistics Space Demand Surges, 38.8 Mn Sq Ft Leased In 2023

Indore centre becomes L’Oréal India’s first warehouse managed entirely by women, signalling deeper gender inclusion in logistics

Mahindra Logistics and L’Oréal India have opened a women-operated warehouse in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The facility is managed entirely by women across day-to-day warehouse functions. The move reflects a broader trend of increasing female participation in logistics roles that have typically seen low representation.

The Indore warehouse serves as a distribution point for central India, supplying cities including Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Singrauli, Sagar, Ratlam, Satna, Rewa, Betul, Neemuch and Khargone. It consolidates L’Oréal India’s product range under one fulfilment system and uses Mahindra Logistics’ warehouse management platform for inventory tracking, order processing and coordination with the company’s distribution network.

“As India’s supply chain expands and becomes more integrated, increasing women’s participation in core operations broadens the talent pool essential to build stronger and more capable logistics networks. Mahindra Logistics and L’Oréal India have come together to challenge long-standing norms by creating an environment designed to expand opportunities for women” said Hemant Sikka, Managing Director and CEO, Mahindra Logistics.

Arun Saravanakumar, Director – Supply Chain, L’Oréal India, described the Indore centre as “the first-ever 100 per cent women-operated warehouse” for the company and said it reflects L’Oréal India’s commitment to “providing women with equal opportunities” within its supply chain.
