Meesho unveiled the second edition of its ‘Trust Assurance Report’ which delves into the company’s proactive measures and continued efforts to enhance security and maintain user trust
As part of its continued efforts to enhance security and user trust, Meesho, an ecommerce marketplace, has stated that it prevented over 2.2 crore fraudulent transactions in the last 12 months. The team has developed analytical models, data science frameworks, and advanced computational logic, which has further helped prevent 13 lakh bot orders and has blocked 77 lakh scam attempts from accessing the platform.
Meesho unveiled the second edition of its ‘Trust Assurance Report’ which delves into the company’s proactive measures and continued efforts to enhance security and maintain user trust. As per the official statement, the company continues to invest in strengthening its dedicated ‘trust and safety’ team as part of ‘Project Vishwas’.
“By leveraging advanced technologies, collaborating with specialised agencies and consultants as well as conducting rigorous on-ground audits, we are trying to stay ahead of the curve in fraud prevention. To effectively combat these frauds, we also have a dedicated trust and safety team focused on building and maintaining user trust,” stated Sourabh Pandey, General Manager, Fulfillment and Experience at Meesho.
As per the company, on the lottery fraud issue, it undertook comprehensive on-ground investigations in Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Ranchi, resulting in three FIRs against these fraudulent schemes. Since October 2023, the platform has successfully reduced incidents of lottery fraud by 75 per cent.

By pooling our expertise and resources, we are confident in our ability to create a safer online environment for consumers and businesses alike. When industry players like Meesho work with us towards raising awareness, it increases the chances of preventing fraud manifold, fostering a culture of digital literacy and responsibility,” stated Ravi Prakash Meharda, Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Rajasthan.
The statement from the company mentioned that to further protect users from malicious schemes, Meesho partnered with various threat intelligence platforms to take down over 18,000 fraudulent social media accounts and approximately 130 fake websites or apps that misused its brand for customer support, job portals, and lucky draws.
