Quick home services platform pilots beauty category in Bengaluru’s Sarjapur micromarket, completing over 2,000 jobs with average
fulfilment time under 15 minutes
Snabbit, India’s quick home services platform, on Thursday entered the beauty services segment with the launch of an instant salon-at-home offering that enables trained beauty professionals to reach customers’ homes within minutes. The expansion marks the company’s entry into a high-frequency category with a sizeable addressable market.
While segments such as food delivery, grocery commerce and home services have rapidly adopted instant fulfilment models, beauty services have largely remained appointment-led, often requiring consumers to schedule bookings hours or days in advance. Snabbit is now seeking to change this consumer behaviour by introducing on-demand beauty services.
Bengaluru Pilot Gains Traction
The company has been piloting the service for the past six weeks in Bengaluru’s Sarjapur micromarket and has completed more than 2,000 jobs during the period. According to the company, the average fulfilment time during the pilot phase has remained under 15 minutes.
The pilot currently operates with 25 active beauty professionals, who are handling nearly 50 jobs daily, with demand continuing to rise steadily.
“Beauty services is a high-frequency category with a large addressable market that overlaps perfectly with the core category we have built,” said Aayush Agarwal, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Snabbit. “Consumers today expect convenience everywhere, but availing beauty services still involves long waiting periods. We see an opportunity to fundamentally rethink the experience through speed, reliability and hyperlocal fulfilment.”
Women-focused Model
The platform currently works exclusively with women beauty professionals whose experience ranges from three to 14 years. These professionals are also undergoing additional training at Snabbit’s dedicated training centres.
Positioned as a “salon by women, for women”, the service has been designed around convenience, comfort and trust for female consumers. The platform has also introduced the offering without a minimum order value, with services starting at Rs 49.
“We are seeing a very strong surge in demand, driven almost entirely by organic word-of-mouth in the dense neighbourhoods we have launched in,” said Dev Priyam, Vice President, Business at Snabbit. “Consumers should not have to plan around basic beauty needs anymore. Whether it’s before office, after work or ahead of stepping out, beauty is increasingly becoming an instant, convenience-led use case. Our focus right now is on perfecting the experience before folding the service into the Snabbit app and scaling it across our existing micromarkets.”
Priyam had earlier Co-founded Pync and joined Snabbit after the company acquired the startup last year. The company now plans to gradually expand the service across additional Bengaluru micromarkets before entering other cities.
