Wendy’s India rolls out Teriyaki burger range nationwide

New Japan-inspired burgers added to menu as the brand expands its global flavour offerings in India

Wendy’s India on Monday unveiled its Teriyaki Burger range in India, adding a Japan-inspired flavour profile to its menu as it expands its portfolio of globally influenced offerings in the country.

They, in partnership with Rebel Foods, includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options such as the Teriyaki Fried Chicken Burger and the Teriyaki Spicy Paneer Burger. The products feature a teriyaki glaze aimed at delivering a balance of sweetness, umami and mild smokiness, adapted for Indian consumers. The range is available across Wendy’s India outlets and on delivery platforms, including EatSure.

“With Teriyaki, we wanted to go beyond just introducing a new flavour and instead create a larger cultural moment for our consumers. Japanese flavours have a distinct identity, and with the growing popularity of anime in India, this was the perfect opportunity to bring the two together,” said Mohit Mahajan, AVP Marketing at Rebel Foods. “At Wendy’s India, we are focused on making global taste experiences more accessible, while ensuring they are relevant, engaging, and exciting for today’s consumers,” he added.

The introduction of the Teriyaki range adds to Wendy’s India’s existing lineup of globally inspired flavours, which includes Chimichurri, Cajun, Buldak, Nachoburg, BBQ and Tandoori variants, as the brand continues to localise international tastes for the Indian market.

As part of the rollout, Wendy’s India will host an anime fan meetup on 9 May at its flagship outlet in BTM Layout. The event will include themed experiences, a cosplay contest and merchandise giveaways.
