Ride-hailing firm Ola Cabs reported a sharp rise in FY25 losses amid a steep decline in revenue and shrinking service income, even as the company cut employee costs significantly
Ride-hailing platform Ola Cabs reported a significant increase in consolidated losses for FY25, weighed down by a steep fall in revenue, according to regulatory filings accessed through market intelligence platform Tofler.
The company’s consolidated net loss widened to Rs 662.4 crore during FY25, compared with Rs 328.7 crore in FY24. At the same time, consolidated revenue declined nearly 42 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,170.9 crore from Rs 2,011.9 crore in the previous financial year.
Ola’s earnings from services, its primary source of income, slipped around 38 per cent to Rs 1,147.9 crore in FY25, down from Rs 1,854.4 crore a year earlier. Revenue generated through product sales also saw a sharp contraction, falling to Rs 90 lakh from Rs 2.8 crore in FY24.
The company undertook cost-cutting measures during the year, with employee benefit expenses dropping by over one-third to Rs 205.2 crore, compared with Rs 333.8 crore in the previous fiscal.
According to Tofler’s analysis, Ola Cabs’ net worth nearly halved during FY25, shrinking to Rs 2,025.3 crore from Rs 3,991.27 crore recorded in FY24.
On a standalone basis, Ani Technologies, the parent entity of Ola Cabs, posted a loss of Rs 697.6 crore for FY25, wider than the Rs 504.8 crore loss reported in FY24. Standalone revenue also declined sharply by 44 per cent to Rs 1,060 crore during the fiscal year.
“The company further reported a net loss of Rs 698 crore during the same fiscal. This is a 38 per cent increase from the last financial year,” the Tofler report stated.
