Driven by festive buying across consumption baskets, Reliance Retail or RRVL has registered a 10 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in its net profit in the third quarter of the current financial year (Q3FY25). The company posted a consolidated profit after tax (Pat) of Rs 3,458 crore in Q3FY25, compared to Rs 3,145 crore in Q3FY24.
Reliance Retail’s net profit in Q2FY25 was Rs 2,836 crore. The quarterly revenue of the company came in at Rs 90,333 crore, marking an 8.8 per cent YoY increase as compared to Rs 83,063 crore revenue in Q3FY24. The revenue from operations marked a 7 per cent rise to Rs 79,595 crore in the recently concluded quarter.
“Retail segment delivered a strong performance, with noteworthy contribution from all formats. The business ably capitalised on the pick-up in consumption amid festive demand during the quarter. A superior understanding of customer needs and preferences enables Reliance Retail to serve a wide variety of demographic profiles with the right product, at the right time, through the right channel,” stated Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of the company stood at Rs 6,828 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal, as compared to Rs 6,238 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. The EBITDA margin was 8.6 per cent in Q3FY25.
As per the official statement from the company, the business opened 779 new stores. The total store count stands at 19,102 with area under operation at 77.4 million square feet. The quarter recorded footfalls of over 296 million, a growth of five per cent on a YoY basis. The registered customer base grew to 338 million.
“Reliance Retail delivered strong performance during the quarter led by festive buying across consumption baskets. Our focus on offering wide range of products at an attractive price-value proposition continues to draw customers to our stores and digital platforms,” stated Isha M. Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Retail.
The focus on scaling up Digital Commerce and New Commerce continued with these channels contributing to 18 per cent of total revenue, as per the company. Business-to-consumer (B2C) grocery grew by 37 per cent YoY reflecting rapid growth at a significantly higher scale relative to other offline and online grocery players.
